KRINOS S.A., a name synonymous with quality in the Greek bottled Natural Mineral Water, Soft Drinks, mixers, and alcoholic beverages sector, reaffirms its commitment to sustainability through meaningful investments and responsible initiatives. At a time when environmental awareness is growing and climate challenges are intensifying, the company recognizes the need to integrate sustainability into the core of its operations — not as a trend, but as a lasting value.
With respect for both tradition and innovation, KRINOS is implementing actions that reduce its environmental footprint. From the use of renewable energy sources and the upgrade of logistics equipment, to water resource management and eco-friendly packaging, every initiative actively contributes to a more sustainable model across all three of its production sectors.

Solar Energy for a Cleaner Tomorrow
One of KRINOS’s most important steps is the installation of a photovoltaic system on the roofs of its facilities, covering 100% of its energy needs for production processes. This system enables the on-site generation of clean, renewable energy, reducing dependency on conventional sources and lowering CO₂ emissions. In this way, the company actively contributes to both national and European environmental goals.
At the same time, solar energy provides cost stability and enhances energy independence. The ability to fully meet its energy needs reinforces KRINOS’s long-term sustainability while reducing exposure to energy cost fluctuations.

Transition to Electric Forklifts
As part of its supply chain upgrade, KRINOS has replaced conventional forklifts with electric vehicles. This shift offers multiple environmental benefits, eliminating emissions and improving working conditions in indoor spaces.
Electric forklifts are also quieter and require less maintenance, boosting overall efficiency and ergonomics. This change is a practical demonstration of KRINOS’s commitment to innovating in ways that benefit both the environment and its employees.

Responsible Packaging Materials Management
Beyond energy initiatives, KRINOS also focuses on the responsible management of primary and secondary packaging materials. As a member of the Hellenic Recovery Recycling Corporation (HERRCO), KRINOS participates in a system that ensures the proper collection and routing of materials toward appropriate recycling and management solutions using clean technologies.
In addition, the company applies an internal packaging waste management system, which includes sorting materials by type (paper, glass, plastic, aluminum) and directing them to specialized channels of sorting and recycling. As a result of this practice, 92% of packaging materials are recycled, aiming both to protect the environment and comply with environmental standards. It’s clear that KRINOS approaches sustainability as a holistic responsibility, extending far beyond energy, touching every stage of the production process.

Sustainable Packaging Materials
KRINOS’s sustainability philosophy is also reflected in its final product. The company has consciously chosen, in two out of its three production and bottling sectors, to use only recyclable packaging materials, such as glass, aluminum, and paper, replacing conventional solutions with more sustainable alternatives. This transition strengthens efforts to reduce plastic use and aligns with the principles of the circular economy.
Beyond environmental benefits, the new packaging also responds to the evolving demands of modern consumers, who increasingly prefer products that combine quality with responsibility. KRINOS ensures it meets this demand, with choices that reflect its core values.
With meaningful actions and a long-term vision, KRINOS S.A. proves that environmental responsibility is not an option, but a priority — and that innovation can coexist harmoniously with tradition.
